Hailey`s JournalTuesday, September 13, 20051:13AM - 1-0 BABY!!!2 updates in .. 2 (?) days - oh yeah! My mother friggin Cowboys started off the season with a win, and I literally couldn`t be happier. Our offense was good, our defense was great .. special teams needs some work but the Chargers are a solid club. We had a tremendous off season, a tremendous draft and free agnecy signing, we put everything together but could we put it to use was the question. I must say with late seasons (lets be honest, since Jimmy Johnson left) I have been skeptical, but always hopeful and supportive of my boys. And it was a great to see it all add up pretty well and us come out with a W. We have alot of stars and breakout players this year. I couldn`t wish for a better coach than Bill Parcells, I pray to God he sticks around to utilize what he`s put together (because lets be honest, Jerry Jones can drive a guy out of the business {I could compare that ability to some promoters I have worked for in the past, but it`s positive football-talk time}) All jokes, I promise. We have the best runningback IN THE LEAGUE I don`t care what anyone says, so eat that. Drew Bledsoe was one of my favorite QBs upon his joining of the league, and actually made me a Pats fan (but I was a little girl, so I didn`t know the evil I was embracing - jokes again) so I was hopeful that he could resurface, if you will, as the Dallas leader since we actually have a line that will block for him (eat that Bills) and so far he has proven pretty well. I can`t help but imagine if he were with us 3 years ago what he could have done for our organization, instead of ruining his name with Buffalo. I could talk forever about our awesome players, but honestly I`d be including the entire roster. I have to give it up to Keyshawn Johnson though, for being there today when we needed him, making phenomenal catches, and displaying his amazing aerial ability yet again this week. He may have an attitude bigger than Texas which I generally can`t stand, but despite his past, he always comes to play for Parcells, and comes up with the big plays when we need them the most.
And I of course can`t finish this entry without bringing up our swank first round draft picks, Marcus Spears and DeMarcus Ware. I remember watching the draft while on the treadmill at the gym and seeing we drafted Spears, and immediately I was psyched for our season. He is a huge boy and going to be one of our many dominant forces on D. You may not have heard his name alot today, but you will. And of course DeMarcus Ware - enough said. He`s going to be the Rookie of the Year, and yeah, they will recognize a Defensive guy. Ware will kill you, so watch out. And how about a salty Roy Williams leading the charge .. or beating the Charge, you decide. Take away his "horse collar" and he`ll just take out your guy`s lower body. I`d honestly rather be tackled horse collar style, if I had to choose. He`s gonna kill a guy too. Sorry no new wrestling updates, I know people generally don`t come here to read about football, but I really can`t help it. I had to vent my excitement for my Boys, finally we will be back on top where we belong!!! =) And good news too, flying back from Cali I won`t be missing the game because we got Monday Night - its like they work their sched around me =) And props to the Lions for taking their season opener. Any time the Packers lose I am a fan =) Jump on the Dal train while you can! Hailey Current mood: Current music: CSI Rerun Sunday, September 11, 20052:56AM - Brain Salad!!!I am watching the most ridiculous music video right now. What the hell is up with all of you? Only 1 update a month, thats all you get. I am going to California next Saturday for APW. I`m really excited to be there again. If it were up to me I`d wrestle exclusively there, but yeah, not up to me. I mass loved my time there previously though, and am excited to be back again. I will be wrestling Tiffany, whom I have never wrestled before, so I`m really looking forward to that. APW is the best thing goin for Women`s Wrestling, so if you haven`t seen their company, I suggest you do. On a side note I hate flying. Not physically flying, but spending time in airports. I want to kick every stewartess in her stupid face. So I guess the same old has been goin on, I do pretty much the same thing every day but don`t mind doin that. I was at the gym Labor Day and it was me and only 1 other guy, and it really made me realize I`d like to have an entire gym built on to the back of my house. I hate the gym crowd alot, at least the one I go to, because it`s so friggin 2k5 trendy it makes me want to kill someone. I made someone tap out twice yesterday to a triangle hold, but thats an inside bust just for them. Last weekend the local drive-in hosted a dusk-til-dawn horor fest. We all checked it out, it was good times. There were alot of kids our age and younger that I didn`t really know existed in Cincy, that were pretty into the horror thing. I thought that was awesome and I hope this joint shows more of these things, 2 a year isn`t enough! I also feel blessed that Ohio has drive-ins left, I read that there are only 100 or so that still exist in the US, mainly in PA and Ohio. Sorry about your luck people without them.
First up was Dead and Breakfast (not bed, no no!) which was friggin awesome. I hated over-the-top guy in the beginning, but he made a fan out of me in the end. I highly reccomend to anyone who enjoys a funny slasher flick, kind of like Shaun of the Dead but I wasn`t extremely into that one. They have these mid-bits of this country guy recapping the scene, and I guess he`s a legit guy, not an actor. He did a song called "We`re coming to kill ya" for the movie which was just ridiculously great. You can check him out at http://www.zachariahmusic.com/main.html if that kind of thing interests you.
Next up was Man With The Screaming Brain which again, super awesome. This is Bruce Campbell`s latest project, and he apparently wrote, dircted, starred, and catered for. Ok, not catered, but calm down Bruce =) I mass love the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness flicks and think they rank high on the list of all-time bests, so anything he does I`d pretty much check out. This movie is technically a "sci-fi" with the plot being Campbell, a wall-street savvy exec has his brain meshed, so to speak, with a Russian thug. You can only imagine the rest, but in the end also a great love story. By no means is the movie just that, but at the end of the movie you kind of feel for Bruce and his old lady, and with all things considered, thats pretty good writing if I do say so myself.
Next was Land of the Dead, and the end of movies we hadn`t seen yet. Supposedly Romero`s last installment in the classic series (which I hope isn`t) but I again enjoyed this one. My friends not as much as me, but F them, Zombie flicks are the best. I love the progression of the flesh-eaters (or stenches, thats funny) evolve every movie, and eventually learn how to become an actual threat. To me undead beings walking the earth without the knowledge of how to use an axe isn`t really scary, because lets be honest, if you get caught by one of these things its over - but it`s not real hard to avoid interaction with them. This movie also starred the talented Asia Argento, daughter of horror director and generally Italian based Dario Argento. And come on, Asia Argento is just a great name. In all seriousness I thought she was awesome as the heroine of this flick. Its unfortunate she did a movie like XXX (not the porn, the Vin Diesel disaster) but hopefully she gets more work like this in the future. She also has one of the coolest tattoos I have ever seen on her ... lower stomach, but I`ll leave that up to you to search for.
We caught House of 1000 Corpses next, but my picture won`t work, so sorry about your luck. You know what I`m talking about. I didn`t like this movie much the first time around, but it was alot better the second time. I like the ending although the movie kind of loses pace the later you get into it, but a combo of funny, yet sick oh-my-God-Rob-Zombie-is-messed-up stuff makes this movie worth a whirl if you like gore ... only if you like gore. I bet Devil`s Rejects is better however.
And as always, we always wrap up the horror-fests with Jason in 3-D. I hate 3-D glasses lots, so if you do too, I`ll sum up the "difference": A snake jumps out at you, an axe comes down at you, blah blah - but yeah Jason overall is good stuff, it was just 6am, I was tired, and had seen that flick more times than anyone needs to.
And speaking of tired, I am, so I`m going to go put on another triangle choke hold and up my record. Don`t forget the best horror flick and villian of all time:
Current mood: Thursday, July 28, 20059:11PM - Life, Death, & Everything in BetweenTo say that it`s been awhile since I have last had contact with the internet world would be more than an understatement. It`s also really funny to me that people have thought that I died, left the wrestling business, became a Mormon (ok, not so much that one) because I haven`t replied to emails (or much less read them) or sent updates to my wonderful webmistress for my website. But all things considered, it`s really great to know I was missed so much. Being in the moment sometimes you don`t realize anyone knows you are alive, you just kind of feel like you are stuck in the loop of the 200+ Glory Girls worldwide. Such isn`t the case, apparently, and thats rad. So the explanation thing is in order, I suppose, and have promised a couple people here and there I would do that. It`d be rough to recap the past 7 months or so of my life, so a bief overview without making this too much of a ramble-fest in my opinion will be sufficient. If you want more, tough luck. You are probably interested in my life on a creepy level if you aren`t satisfied with this hugely time-consuming update. So I started the year off with a seperated shoulder. That was good times. It was really hard to work with, hard to train with, hard to brush my hair with, so I let it do what it needed to do the first time I seperated it (about 3 seperations ago) and let it heal up. I understand that any kind of joint injury will never be the same. I don`t expect it to be. I don`t even bench press anymore, I just do dumbells, thats how much I have tore that sucker up. But its all a-ok with me, I learned from experience no matter how hard headed you are about things, sometimes your body just needs to heal, and I was finally nice enough to my body to let it do so. I went out on a limb and made a career change. I made great money and had alot of fun with the old gig, but things started to change, and I just up and went on to a completely different field, and I must say, it paid off. I really like my new gig, and I got instant respect, admiration, and best of all, promotions, within a matter of months. Things at work have kind of been a whirlwind for me, and have really kept me busy. I`m really the kind of girl who likes to max out every minute of her life with things to do, so of course adding different forms of training to that have really taken up the 16+ hours a day that I`m awake. But I wouldn`t change that for the world =) Speaking of training, I am doing alot of it. Some of the reason for my absence in wrestling is not only time, but disinterest. I don`t know if that`s really the right word to use, because I haven`t cut back on how much I think about or watch wrestling, but as far as my participation goes, I cut back the amount of bookings I have been doing for sure. Now I definately want to do more, and am pursuiting it, but there was a time that wrestling kind of made me bitter. General wrestling has made me bitter for a while now, but for me there has always been female wrestling, which was really going places in my opinion. The E`s division was the best it had ever been, minus the earlier days for the division when Joshi girls came over and destroyed/got destroyed. And not that every girl signed had the ring capabilities of Dean Malenko, but they did what they could, tried really hard, and got pushed because of it. And then all of the sudden, a gigantic fall off. I know money is tight (and how that happens is beyond me - what are you buying?) but cutting the girls division was *not* the way to go. Its not their fault, they hardly ever get 10 minutes of the show! And I`m sure some juniors can relate with me on the cruiser division, but at least thats going somewhere now. And not that the E is in any way what I base my career off, but to say that doesn`t affect the indies would be a lie. No bookings for the girls up top means less bookings for the girls down here. What really bothered me was the demise of 2 Joshi promotions. I know that they are bankrupt one day and business is booming the next, but Aja not having a home company is just a discrace. Minimal girls promotions in the one country where females are admired for their athletic ability really sucks. So for God`s sake, support women`s wrestling! With all of that said, I hope its understandable how I lost a little interest in trying to push something that didn`t want to be pushed. It was like beating a dead horse (and I hate to use that analogy because I love horses) everytime we talked about female wrestling in a *wrestling* light. But I understand now how many fans and wrestlers do want this to be more respected and appreciated as a sport, and even though our odds are 1 to 100, we still exist, and as long as there are people out there that want to make this thing happen, I`ll be along for the ride. But by no means was just a lack of interest the entire reason I took a small amount of time off, or time off from the internet. I want to really make it clear that I wasn`t avoiding emails, from promoters or from fans, simply because I didn`t want to answer them - I was legitimately not online for like 6 months. I had to re-activate my hotmail and everything. I seriously had no time to get to the library or internet cafe during their hours of operation because I had things in my real life I had to juggle. But I did just purchase a new laptop and got internet access installed to our new pad, so I can be online at 4 in the morning if thats my only time available. Back to my original point about training, when I felt girls wrestling was kind of going down, I got more into mixed martial arts and boxing. Things that I had done all of my life, but had to take a back seat to wrestling when I started training. I have really missed competing in real forms of fighting, so to be able to do that again is great. And now that I can actively do both, I`m super happy about that. So all of that little stuff aside, the biggest reason for my time away has been my mom. I don`t really like to talk about personal stuff on here, but I called my mom up one day and she told me she had cancer. It really took the cake on worst phone call I have ever had. My mom has been healthy all of her life. Never sick, never at high risk for anything. I`m an avid supporter of finding a cure for cancer, alot of the reason being that it affects so many women every day. I have made various donations, read tons of books on the disease, really familiarized myself with it - yet it was still shocking to hear someone I know, especially someone I am that close to, had this disease. Things are worlds apart in difference when they happen to someone you know, especially a parent. So not to dwell on the negative, but luckily it was all detected really early and everything was able to be removed. I`m happy to say my mom is probably healthier than she had been before, and has been cancer free for 27 days now =)
I think this pretty much explains my whereabouts lately. As for my interests for the future, I am going to continue training hard, keeping up with shoot fighting and boxing, and hopefully competing with them both soon, and last but not least, wrestling. I have some huge things in the works so as always, stay tuned, and I`ll be sure to keep everyone posted! And last but not least, wrestling and the world lost one of its greats in Shinya Hashimoto. This one really got me. I grew up on New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Hash was a huge staple in that era. I wish that one day I could have seen him wrestle live, but for now, I have hundreds of hours of memories on VHS. RIP Hash. Love always, Hailey Current mood: Current music: A bad RAW segment Thursday, September 16, 20044:58AMI just heard Johnny Ramone died. Music lost a great talent today. Current mood: Current music: I wanna be sedated - The Ramones Wednesday, July 28, 20041:33AMSo we`ve been on a super bad horror movie kick now for like, 6 months, but its to the point we`ve seen almost all of the bad DVDs, so we`re going back even furthur to VHS. I couldn`t begin to name all of the bad flicks we`ve picked up recently, but a couple that we saw yesterday were:
Death Factory has Ron Jeremy in it, which rules, cause everyone loves Ron Jeremy. I really didn`t mind this movie, by no means is it good, or does it have a story, but I`m all for some gore, and there was plenty of it in this one.
Now Vampires vs. Zombies apparently wears the crown of worst Horror Movie Ever. But you have to see it to believe it. Everyone told me there was no way I would follow the story, so 3/4ths of the movie in and I still knew what was up, I was feeling good - but oh no, then theres the last 20 minutes. Just wow. Go rent this if you have a good sense of humor. And if you go to Hollywood Vid, its only 99 cents, so you don`t want to go and kill off Hollywood for making it. But yea, wow.
So enough on movies, lets talk some wrestling! I`m defending 2 belts this weekend - Saturday MCIW in Scottsburg, IN vs. Jamie Morrisson - I`ve never seen her wrestle, or have wrestled her, so I`m looking forward to this one. Its been awhile since I`ve wrestled someone that I had no clue on what they did on the ring, She best bring her A game though, if she wants to think about taking my title.
Sunday TLW in Big Clifty, KY vs TBA - to my knowledge, the first person to reply to the open challenge gets a shot at me, so theres the element of suprise - However, based off the names I have heard, I haven`t seen any of them wrestle, either - so a big weekend of suprises for me. Looking forward to long weekends coming up. I don`t like double shots, I need 3 and 4`s! I`m a part of some big shows here in the near future, so I`m really excited about that. More on that later, though.
Come out this weekend! I guess I`ve never been too good at this whole journal thing. I`m rude like that. Current mood: relaxedCurrent music: Conan O`Brien on TV Thursday, April 8, 20042:59PMObtaining a passport is way more difficult than it needs to be. It is ridiculously not funny or any other possible emotion you can attempt to portray in a sitcom. I think this is the first time I have seen an episode since I`ve been out of middle school (which granted wasn`t that long ago I guess) but wow, talk about dry.
